ALE, operating under the Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise brand, has named Gerard Sillars as the company’s new Vice President of Sales for Asia-Pacific (APAC).
Sillars replaces Matthieu Destot, who was recently appointed as Executive Vice President of the Communications Division and President of ALE International.
With immediate effect, Sillars will manage all sales operations across the region – Australia, New Zealand, Korea, Japan, India and the markets in ASEAN, including Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam and Philippines. He will lead a team ranging from sales consultants, to support, technical and product management specialists. Sillars is part of the Global Sales and Marketing Leadership team, and will report to Jan Zuurbier, Executive Vice President, Global Sales & Marketing, ALE.
Prior to joining ALE, Sillars held several senior leadership positions at CommVault Systems, where he spent 13 years. Eleven of those years were spent launching, building and growing CommVault’s business in the APAC region. In his most recent role as the Worldwide Vice President for CommVault’s Cloud Solutions Group, Sillars led the businesses to significant double digit revenue growth.
“APAC continues to be one of our fastest growing markets and it is our utmost pleasure to welcome Gerard to the team during this important stage of growth. Gerard brings along years of experience in the technology sector that will ensure we stay ahead of the curve, even as we embrace life as a new company. We are confident Gerard’s addition will bring tremendous value, leading our business to greater success,” said Zuurbier.
“ALE is leading the way in helping organizations transform how employees communicate, harnessing capabilities offered by smarter devices and new usage models,” said Sillars. “APAC remains one of the key markets of growth for ALE and I’m excited to be part of this innovative team and look forward to continue growing the ALE business in this region.”
