IT giant IBM has completed the acquisition of Sanovi Technologies, a privately held hybrid cloud recovery and business continuity software firm.
Headquartered in Bangalore, India, Sanovi Technologies provides Cloud Migration and Business Continuity software designed to enable application defined continuity for Cloud infrastructure and Data Centers. It has offices in Delhi, Mumbai, and subsidiaries or affiliates in Singapore, United Arab Emirates, and United States. Sanovi employs over one hundred employees, and has been a business partner of IBM India / Asia Pacific, and recently with IBM Middle East and North America.
The acquisition is expected to better enable IBM to bolster its Software Defined Resiliency strategy and delivery of Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery services for clients undergoing digital and hybrid cloud transformation.
Sanovi’s offerings will be integrated into IBM’s Resiliency Disaster Recovery as a Service suite of services and take our DR portfolio to a new level of value for clients.
The addition of Sanovi’s orchestration technology to IBM’s existing resiliency portfolio offers a solution that can help simplify and automate the disaster recovery process, can help to manage recovery workflows, and can help to reduce recovery time, operating costs, and disaster recovery drill testing time explained IBM on http://staging.sanovi.com/ibm-closes-acquisition-of-sanovi-technologies-faq/.
IBM plans to integrate the Sanovi capabilities into the IBM Global Technology Services unit. IBM Resiliency Services is designed to anticipate and confront the growing range of natural and man-made risks surrounding businesses today and was named a Leader for the second consecutive year in Gartner’s June 2016 Magic Quadrant for Disaster Recovery as a Service. Moving forward, IBM envisions leveraging Watson Analytics to expand Sanovi’s Disaster Recovery Management (DRM) capabilities and enable organizations to move from business continuity planning to more proactive resiliency programs that help anticipate potential failures.
IBM will work with Sanovi business partners to ensure compliance with IBM business policies and as appropriate transition to the IBM Business Partner program.
