Paytm has announced a collaboration with Comic Con India to serve as the official ticketing partner for the Alto Pune Comic Con to be held between 4-5th March, 2017. As a part of the agreement, Paytm would manage ticket sales, including ones available online on Paytm and at the event venue.

Visitors can tap on the ‘Events’ icon in their Paytm app and book their tickets to the Pune Comic Con. Alternatively, they can also choose to buy tickets offline by scanning the Paytm QR Codes at the ticket counters at the venue. All food and beverage outlets at the venue would also accept Paytm as their preferred payment method.

Commenting on the partnership, Renu Satti, VP, Paytm, said, “Our partnership with Comic Con India will enable consumers across India to book tickets to the upcoming Alto Pune Comic Con 2017. Paytm’s QR Code-based payment system installed at payment counters would also ensure a seamless payment experience at the venue. This will help us serve the widest set of comics and superhero lovers given the excitement around the first full edition of the Pune event.”

Speaking on the announcement, Karan Kalra, Director (Business Strategy), Comic Con India Pvt. Ltd, said, “The tremendous response to Pune Comic Con Express last year has given us the confidence to come back to the city and host its own full-fledged edition. This show is more than double in size and not only are there a host of exhibitors selling some of the coolest merchandise, Alto Pune Comic Con 2017 also has numerous entertainment partners showcasing the best fan experience zones, including Bahubali, Amazon, Logan, AXN, Alto and 360 Art VR Dome.”

“Paytm is our preferred ticketing and payment service partner. With its mobile application already being used by a large portion of our fan base, this will lead to a seamless experience for the visitor from purchasing entry tickets to paying for a snack at the food court”, he added.

In a massive effort to promote cashless ticketing, Paytm has been partnering with all leading cinemas in India to bring a seamless ticketing experience to its customers. It has also partnered with amusement parks and gaming parlors like World of Wonders, SMAASH Sports Center and top events like EDC and NH7 Weekender to enable its cashless payment solution at leading entertainment destinations across India. This would help the company drive significant growth in its movies and events categories.
