Paytm plans to increase the number of its screens from the current 2,250 to 3,000 in the coming months. The company is moving aggressively into the movie ticketing sector and has reported more than a lakh movie tickets a day within four months of launch of its movie ticketing business.
Leveraging Paytm’s existing ecosystem of over 130 million users, Paytm has set itself aggressive numbers in the months ahead.
The company attributes the initial success of in the movie-ticketing domain to the pan India availability of movie screens on its platform. Paytm’s list of tie-ups in the movie industry includes PVR, Cinepolis, Inox, Wave, Miraj, MovieTime, Gold Cinemas and multiple other chains and single screen theatres.
Speaking on this, Renu Satti, VP, Paytm, said, “Since the launch of movie ticketing four months back, Paytm is well on its way to become the country’s favorite mode of booking movie tickets.
