Switzerland based Sicap, provider of mobile network software solutions, is on an expansion spree and is aggressively eyeing India market for is enterprise mobility management solutions targeted at corporates and SMEs, and Internet of Things solutions.
Founded in 1997 as a spin-off of Swisscom, Sicap started its India operations in the second half of 2015. The company provides solutions in four areas: customer insights and engagement, device and SIM management, IoT service enablement and mobile security.
The IoT solution provider’s Global Development and Support Center (GDSC) in Kolkata started with a team strength of around nine people today boasts of 50 employees. As a part of its expansion plan, the headcount in its Gurgaon office which currently stands at 17, will see the number go up by the end of 2017.
“We are betting big on India, as India is a high growth opportunity market and the fastest growing for Sicap. We see a fast-growing market in segments such as telecommunications, IoT and enterprise,” said Markus Doetsch, CEO, Sicap Group. “By the end of this year we expect to have 20 customers for our IoT solutions,” he added.
The Company has till now invested US$ 3.5 million in India market.
According to a report by research firm Market Research Store, Indian telecommunications service market is expected to grow by 10.3% year on year to reach US$ 103.9 billion by 2020.
Sicap’s major customer in India is Reliance Jio which uses the company’ device management solution.
Headquartered in Baar, Switzerland, today Sicap’s customer lists features more than 80 mobile service providers and virtual operators in 76 countries. Huawei and Oberthur Technologies are its long term strategic partners.
