Buoyed by the success of its PayUmoney seller app, launched almost two years back, and to assist the SME ecosystem in joining the m-commerce bandwagon PayUmoney has launched an enhanced version of this app.
The new features helps merchants to transition on board the mobile platform without any hiccups saving the merchants the tedious on-boarding process of using a desktop or a laptop computer through a website.
Abhishek Tripathi, Head of Business, PayUmoney (SMB), said, “We had launched the first version of the seller app almost two years ago, which was for merchants, to utilize the trading tools of PayUmoney SME business. The success of the initial version inspired new and innovative features in the updated app. After launching the new version, we have on boarded 10, 000 merchants, of which 20% were directed through the app. However, until the launch, the average registration was 6,500 and now it intends to add about 12,000 merchants this month.”
Then main inspiration behind this was India’s huge number of SMEs (51 million), out of which around 10 million are equipped with adequate technology to trade online.
“To tap the rest, we at PayUmoney introduced a missed call facility to assist merchants in tier 2 & 3 cities to sign-up on the platform by just giving a missed call,” added Tripathi.
PayUmoney did not consider a merchant as registered until the merchant made at least one transaction from the app. The seller app is the first of its kind initiative to make the process of bringing sellers online simpler.
